In June 2025, Manitoba’s NDP government passed Bill 4, which Premier Wab Kinew publicly branded as the “Freedom Bill.” It was presented as a long-awaited response to public outrage over Plan 2050 and the governance model of the Winnipeg Metropolitan Region (WMR), which had been put in place by the previous Progressive Conservative Government.

We have just finished watching the full YouTube recording of the Winnipeg Metropolitan Region (WMR) Board meeting held on January 22, 2026 — and what we witnessed left us shocked, amazed, angered, and frankly struggling to believe what we were hearing.

This Tuesday, Manitoba Stronger Together is pleased to welcome Councillor Andy Kuczynski (Ward 2) and Councillor Mark Miller (Ward 3) from the Rural Municipality of Springfield for an educational, behind-the-scenes conversation about what it means to serve as a municipal councillor — and what it takes to run a successful campaign.
