Know Your Candidates

Before casting your vote, we encourage you to get to know the candidates. Reach out to them, ask questions, and request their commitments in writing. Don't be afraid to hold them accountable for their promises. Informed voting is a powerful tool to ensure our schools reflect our values and priorities.

Here are the links to the Candidate profiles, I have included phone numbers, and emails for the candidates, click on the name if it is in RED

Do not just rely on the Candidate Profile! Phone Them Talk to them, ask the questions that are important to you, and WRITE DOWN THEIR ANSWERS, DATE AND SIGN THE NOTES AND SEND THEM TO US.

Check the local newspaper, since some of the candidates have been interviewed by the Brandon Sun, and what they said in their profile and what they said in the interview, do not necessarily line up.

CANDIDATE'S DEBATE - 7:00 P.M., OCTOBER 18, 2023

In the lead up to the Brandon School Board Trustee by-election on October 25, 2023, The Brandon Sun, Brandon University, the Brandon Teachers’ Association, CUPE Local 737, and Westman Communications invite you to attend a candidates’ debate for Ward 1 and Ward 2.

These public debates, which will be held at Brandon University’s Evan’s Theater, will be live streamed by WCGtv on their website and also rebroadcast at a later date. The Brandon Sun will provide news coverage and commentary.

Join Our Discussion

To facilitate your decision-making process, we invite all interested community members to join our Manitoba Stronger Together Zoom meetings on October 17 and October 24. During these meetings, we encourage open and thoughtful discussions about the candidates' platforms, their visions for our schools, and how they align with our shared goals.

Our Vision for a Stronger Manitoba

Manitoba Stronger Together is a non-partisan, grassroots organization created by Manitobans for Manitobans. Our aim is to empower our community and ensure that our voices are heard at every level of government. These school trustee elections are a prime example of how we can shape our community's future by participating in the democratic process.

Make Your Vote Count

Your participation is crucial. Voting is not just a right; it's a responsibility. It's much more effective to elect the right candidate in the first place than to spend time later protesting decisions that don't align with our values. By actively engaging with the candidates, discussing their platforms, and casting your vote, you can help create a school board that truly represents our community's needs and aspirations.
